Catherine Purcell

Catherine Purcell

OED is fully supported by Catherine Purcell as Research and Administrative Assistant.

Her commercial background is in Investment Banking as an analyst for Goldman Sachs.

She is LIFO trained and has a BSc (honours) degree in Psychology..

Catherine not only provides day-to-day and workshop support but also contributes insights and inputs to the continuing development of OED products and services from a programme of ongoing research.

Phil Lowe

Phil Lowe

Phil has been an associate with OED since 1997 and brings 15 years’ experience in training and facilitation. Formerly a senior consultant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and an Honorary Teaching Fellow in Training and Development at Birkbeck College, London, he specialises in helping individuals make creative leaps in effectiveness using their existing resources.

Phil has co-authored two books and numerous articles on management development, and was co-devisor and writer of seven series of The Board Game for BBC Radio 4. He began his career in the theatre as a writer and performer, and specialises in the use of creative and media techniques in course design.

Phil holds a MSc in Organisational Behaviour from the University, an honours degree in English from Cambridge University and a postgraduate diploma from the Drama Studio, London. He is qualified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and FIRO measures and is a faculty member of Management Centre Europe.

Laura Tovey

Laura Tovey

Laura’s background is in financial services and management consulting. She has held divisional, global and European positions in leadership and management development at Goldman Sachs and Barclays.

She is a senior coach and leadership development advisor for OED Consulting and partners the firm in its Strategic Team Leadership™ initiative.

Laura holds a dual honours degree in Marketing and German and an MBA with distinction from the City Business School. She is a Member of the CIPD, qualified in Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, LIFO and FIRO-B measures and Neuro Linguistic Programming as well as a Coaching & Mentoring International accredited coach.

She has had work published in a number of journals and books.

Hans-Joerg Birrer

Hans-Joerg Birrer

Hans-Joerg is Swiss and a specialist contributor in experiential learning with qualifications in ‘high wire’ activities.

He is an engineer by background and a highly competent skier, mountaineer and orienteerer.

He has worked with OED since its inception on both management education and leadership team workshops usually at Schloss Marbach on Lake Constance (near Zurich) and also the UK.

Hans-Joerg is fluent in French, German and English.
