Our approach is based on a simple formula: P (Performance) = R (Results) X E (Effectiveness) Business leadersand theirteamsmust achieve results and demonstrateeffectiveness.Measurable performance is a multiplier of both results and effectiveness. Overall performance falls when either results or effectiveness is over-emphasised at the expense of the other.Focusing exclusively on results to make short-term performance jeopardises sustainability. The ‘what’ becomes more important than the ‘how’. Focusing exclusively on effectivenessthrough development that is not performance-related jeopardises results. The ‘how’ becomes more important than the ‘what’.Both results (the ‘what’) and effectiveness(the ‘how’) matter. Together they provide the road map for both the business and for the development of its people. |
